Movie Review: Andor

Andor (TV Series) is a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Done. That’s all you need to know. Right?

That name should give you enough to start. If you’ve seen Rogue One then you probably know what’s going on. If you didn’t see it, I hope you at least have heard about Star Wars. And if you haven’t heard about Star Wars you probably live under a rock.

Andor is not the usual “Jedi versus Sith” story (with lightsabers flying around). While the kid in me still loves those too, this show is mostly about politics and life in a not-so-distant future. As a kid, I probably wouldn’t like it this much. But now I love it and I found myself glued to the screen, sipping every scene and immersing in it.

Though it’s Science/Fiction, it’s less fiction and more science. And more politics and inner goings of groups of people.

Even if you are a Star Wars fan, Andor is a bit slow and takes its time to set up the environment. And the story that will happen. Even so, I love it for what it is. Explaining the star wars universe and the intricacies of the two main factions: The empire and the rebels.

Pros: Good story, great acting, fantastic cinematography

Cons: Slow pace at some points but just so it sets up the events

There are a lot of characters that will make an impression on you and you will see(once again) that life is not only in white and black.

I usually write about the shows and movies that I enjoy, so probably you already expect a good review from me. And you are not wrong. 9/10 and I can’t wait for more shows like this.

Have you seen it? Did you enjoy it or did you fall asleep?
